She's had plenty of reasons to celebrate since she shot to overnight stardom on Britain's Got Talent in 2009.
And Susan Boyle had another reason to smile on Friday as she celebrated her 50th birthday with gifts, cards and balloons from well-wishers.
However it wasn't all plain sailing for the singer as she showed off her birthday treats on the doorstep of her home in Blackburn, West Lothian.
Birthday breeze: Susan's hair suddenly became windswept as she was reading her cards on the doorstep of her house
The birthday girl was caught out by a sudden gust of wind which blew her hair up in the air and made her look almost comical.
However it didn't dampen her good humour as Susan - dressed for her big day in a vivid red frock with a frilled neckline - saw the funny side.
The singer - who recently moved from her modest council house in the Scottish village to a £300,000 town house nearby - told Scottish channel STV that she had enjoyed receiving all the gifts from fans and other well wishers.
Lift-off: The singer's hair blew upwards in a sudden gust of wind outside her Blackburn home
'I have had lots of nice people at the door, lots of nice presents which I thank you all for. Thank you!' she said.
Susan added that the past two years of her life had been 'fantastic'. They’ve really changed my life and I’d like it to continue.'
the singer has enjoyed huge success since her now infamous Britain's Got Talent audition in April 2009.
Back under control: The singer appeared to see the funny side of her windswept hair and kept on smiling
Since then, her debut album I Dreamed A Dream has been named the fastest selling album by a UK female and also the most successful first week sale of a UK debut album by the Guinness Book of Records.
Her second album, The Gift, topped the album charts in both the UK and America and now Susan is thought to be working on a third album.
